Pirate Fleet Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 8, 2026
Pirate Fleet is an iOS game published by Doggett Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the Pirate Fleet app and the game servers behind it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect
Your account
You can play with an anonymous account created on your device, with no name, email address, or sign-in required. In that case we store only a randomly generated player ID.
If you choose Sign in with Apple — which lets you recover your fleet on a new device — we store the opaque user identifier Apple gives us for you. We do not request or store your name or your email address, and Apple's Hide My Email option works normally.
Your game data
So that your progress survives reinstalling the app and follows you between devices, we store your game state on our servers: your ships and crew, gold, infamy, gems, voyages, upgrades, milestones, prestige level, purchases, and similar gameplay records.
What you choose to show other players
Some of the game is social. The following are visible to other players by design:
- Your display name and any title you have earned.
- Your leaderboard standing (all-time and weekly infamy).
- Your clan membership, contributions, and battle results.
- Anything you post to a clan message board.
Please do not put personal information in a display name, a clan name, or a message board post.
Analytics and diagnostics
We use Amplitude to understand how the game is played — which screens are opened, which voyages are run, where players get stuck. These events are tied to your player ID, not to your real identity. We do not send Amplitude your Apple identifier, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
The app also keeps a diagnostic log on your device. It stays on your device unless you use Contact Support to email it to us, in which case you can see the whole report before it is sent.
Purchases
In-app purchases are handled by Apple. We receive a receipt confirming a purchase was made and record the resulting entitlement. We never see your payment card, billing address, or Apple ID password.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules them locally on your device for things like a voyage finishing. Live Activities are off until you turn them on in Profile.
Why we are allowed to use it
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on: contract, to run the game and save your progress; legitimate interests, to keep the game fair, moderate abuse, and improve it through analytics; and consent, where you have given it, such as for notifications.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers who run the game for us, and only so they can do that:
- Railway — server and database hosting.
- Amplitude — product analytics.
- Apple — sign-in, purchases, and notification delivery.
- OpenAI — automated moderation. Text you submit as a display name, a clan name or description, or a message board post is checked against OpenAI's moderation service so prohibited content can be blocked. Only that text is sent, with no identifier attached to it.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to investigate abuse, cheating, or a threat to someone's safety.
How long we keep it
We keep your game data while your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, it is immediately hidden from other players and from the leaderboards, and the underlying records are permanently erased after a short grace period during which you can change your mind. Some anonymized or aggregated records — ones that can no longer identify you — may be kept afterwards.
Your choices
- Delete your account. Profile → Account → Delete Account removes your account and your game data. You can also email us.
- Get a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, by emailing us.
- Turn off notifications and Live Activities in Profile, or in iOS Settings.
- Turn off tracking at the system level with iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights — to object to or restrict processing, or to complain to your local data protection authority. Email us and we will help. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.
Children
Pirate Fleet is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and the game's servers and service providers are located there. If you play from outside the United States, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.
Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit, sign-in credentials are held in the iOS Keychain, and access to the production database is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will say so in the app.
